Dr. Lee berichtet:
The Meghauli based staff of Clinic Nepal along with volunteers from Nepal, Germany, and the US conducted a most successful health camp September 11-16 2011 in some areas that had not been visited for about one and a half years. Nearly 1000 patients were evaluated. Some patients age 50 had never been seen by a physician. Most infants were born at home and although vaccinated to the credit of a strong vaccination program in Nepal have received no ongoing health care. Many infants under 6 months were evaluated which is most important to detect congenital disorders (genetic, cardiac, skeletal, neurologic and others) which if detected early can be corrected and lead to a normal life with lessening of the burden on an already limited system. Infants and children with congenital heart disease, multiple congenital anomalies including cleft lip and palate, extra digits, hearing and visual impairment, and urologic/genital abnormalities were evaluated and referred for definitive treatment.Den gesamten Bericht lesen.
